A newsroom and its publishing system.
Gulf Report combines a public news experience with a full editorial workspace. Readers can move through English and Arabic news, categories, companies and search, while the team manages the content lifecycle from one admin system.
The public side is responsive and built for both left-to-right and right-to-left reading. The admin side is designed around the people who source, edit, review and approve stories.
Move quickly without losing control.
A news platform needs speed, but publishing cannot become a free-for-all. Imported leads need review, writers need clear ownership, approvers need a focused queue, and every locale needs an explicit publishing decision.
The system also had to preserve original source material while giving editors a safe working copy to shape before publication.
A workflow built around editorial responsibility.
I built the platform in Laravel and Filament, connecting the public site, content model and editorial controls in one system.
- Role and permission controls for editors, approvers, admins and super admins
- Approval queue, personal submissions and constrained status transitions
- RSS and Atom source ingestion with deduplication and scheduled pulls
- Original source data beside an editable working copy
- Per-locale publishing, version history, restoration and audit logs
- News metadata, structured data, sitemap and public RSS feed
One path from source to published story.
Instead of relying on scattered handoffs, Gulf Report gives the editorial team one traceable route from a new lead to a reviewed, localized and published article.
The result is a platform that treats the public experience and the internal workflow as equally important parts of the product.
