01 / Context

Family schedules are shared systems.

Kidopi helps parents create a calendar for each child, invite guardians and assign activities and responsibilities. Families can also connect in trusted circles for playdates, birthdays and school pickups.

I built the Laravel backend that powers the mobile experience, together with the administration tools used to manage the platform.

02 / The challenge

Make sharing useful without making it careless.

Family coordination involves overlapping calendars, different levels of responsibility and information that should stay private by default.

The model needed to support collaboration inside a family and selective sharing between families without exposing every event or child profile.

03 / The system

Permissions designed around real family roles.

The backend uses a role and sharing model that mirrors how guardians actually coordinate.

  • Primary guardian, guardian and viewer permissions
  • A dedicated calendar for each child
  • Selective cross-family sharing through trusted circles
  • Reminders and push notifications for iOS and Android
  • Laravel Nova administration for platform management
04 / Delivery

A backend that reached real families.

Kidopi shipped as a production mobile application on both major app stores. The work demonstrates how a carefully designed permission model can make a complex social product feel simple and safe to use.
